How to Become a Del Mar Coach

STEPS TO BECOMING A DEL MAR COACH
 

Welcome to Del Mar Athletics!

Here are the steps to follow to be considered for a coaching position at Del Mar High School. All Open positions are posted at: Edjoin 

1. Contact the Athletic Director (AD) regarding the position desired with a letter of interest and resume. Following the screening process, the AD may contact you for an interview.

2. Once offered the position, the AD will direct you through the process of getting cleared with the Campbell Union High School District.

3. Once cleared by CUHSD, all coaches must complete the following certifications and provide copies of each to the AD:

  • Coaching Certification (Lifetime Certification):
  • Take the Coaching Principals course - www.asep.com
  • Click Course Catalog
  • Scroll down to Coaching Principles, click the blue “I”, Information button on the left
  • Choose CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) as your association or organization

 

OR

 
  • Concussion Training (Free):
  • www.nfhslearn.com
  • Click Courses, then Free Courses, and then click on Concussion in Sports (you may need to register first.)
 
  • CPR, First Aid and AED Training (Must recertify every two years):
  • Coaches may schedule these courses for themselves, or may contact the AD for CUHSD scheduled classes.
