Extended Optional Workouts

We will be holding extended optional summer workouts


All Coaches and Student-Athletes will be following strict guidelines set in place by both the County and CUHSD.

If you are interested, please reach out to the Coaches for the following sports:

1) Girls Volleyball on the Baseball Field

Mon/Wed/Fri, 5:00-6:15pm

Conditioning training includes:

  • 10 Minute Warm-up
  • 30 Minutes condition/Jump training
  • 35 Minutes individual skill drills - variety of drills but all are easily accomplished using social distancing guidelines:
    • serving
    • passing
    • setting
    • hitting
  • no team or scrimmage type drills will be used

 

2) Football on the Turf

Monday - Thursday, for a duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes
Times vary between 3-7pm 
 
November 30th to December 11th, 2020
Monday - Friday, for a duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes
Times vary between 3-7pm
 

Conditioning training includes:

  • Plyometrics
  • Mild-to-moderate conditioning
  • Skill development
  • Weight training
  • Variety of body weight exercises
  • Intent: No soft tissue injuries for 90% of athletes that participate.
  • Desired Adaptation: Increase work capacity, increase aerobic performance while building the anaerobic system, re-acclimate players to meet the demands of the sport.
  • Methods: General athletic based movement, running mechanics, low volume plyometrics, barbell, kettlebell, dumbbell complexes, carries and sled work.
  • Mission: 50/50 Conditioning/Technique Every.Single.Day

 

Depending on the group, “skill” players may throw balls to each other while maintaining social distance.

 

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Student-Athletes:

  • you may not participate until you have contacted your Coach listed above, and completed the necessary paperwork included in the documents section below.
Parents:
  • an updated Parent Opt In Form (noting player maximum is 16 students) will be added as soon as possible. Until then, kindly complete and submit the form posted in the documents section below.

At this time we are only allowed to use outdoor spaces, so sports are limited:

  • Student athletes may only join one program's practice, as we need to adhere to the guideline of keeping our student athletes in one group of 16.
  • Mr. Castaneda will reach out if/when guidelines change and we are able host more workouts in a safe manner. 
  • Please contact your Coach if you have any further questions.
