NIGHT SCHOOL (CACE)
Students taking night school courses should continue working on their assigned class remotely, OdysseyWare always has been and continues to be a platform that is accessible to students from home with a computer and Internet access.
The credit recovery teachers will continue to monitor student coursework remotely over the next several weeks.
Night school teachers have been asked to waive the requirement for pre-tests and unit exams to be proctored in class. In the upcoming weeks, these tests will be opened for students to complete at home so that they can continue to progress in their courses. OdysseyWare is designed so that students can send requests to their teachers to unlock tests and quizzes, ask questions, submit work to be graded, etc.
Grades for completed courses will continue to be posted in Aeries as they are completed - students should check with their Del Mar counselor after completing a course to confirm the final grade.
Students taking Odysseyware Academy courses online should continue working on their assigned classwork, accessible to students from home with a computer and Internet access.
DEADLINE for course completion: May 22, 2020. If you have any questions or concerns, please email your Guidance Counselor. If you have questions about the class specifically, please contact your teacher in the cloud.
SCHEDULING FOR 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
Course request letters will be mailed home to families for review after spring break.
Schedule change deadline has been moved to: May 1, 2020. Email your counselor to request a change.
Counselors and teachers are compiling presentations to host a Virtual IB/AP Night. Once all the presentations are gathered a page will be added to Del Mar’s website for students and families. Students should watch the presentations for the classes they are interested in and email their counselor if they’d like to make a change to their schedule after viewing the videos/presentations.
SVCTE: students will be notified of their status in the SVCTE program in the course request letter mailed home.
Counselors are mailing home summer school information after Spring Break to students recommended to repeat courses for graduation credit. Students should email their counselor with any questions.
|COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER INFORMATION|
"My name is Chasity Knight and I bring you love from the east coast all the way from Charlotte, NC. I really am excited to be in your great community! I began my undergraduate studies at Benedict College in Columbia, SC and received a BA degree in History. My graduate studies began at Columbia College in Columbia, SC and I received my MA degree in Divergent Learning Education. After leaving Columbia, SC, I ended up in Charlotte, NC where I attended UNCC as a graduate student to complete my teaching license in middle grades social studies.
My teaching experience list is pretty long but I will give you the short version. I have taught students from Pre-K through High school. I even had the pleasure of teaching students from South Africa during the summer months.
Why am I in California? Well my husband works for Google and I had to resign from my old teaching position early. The move was a tough one because I wore so many hats! I left my old position as the school’s Teacher of the Year. With me I bring this great honor, hard work, and dedication to serve the Del Mar High community. I hope that you have enjoyed learning about me and see that educating others is my passion. I look forward to meeting you and your family this year."
