About Me

Preston Hatfield
B.A. in English (creative writing emphasis) from the University of California, Davis
M.A. in Education from Stanford University

Before teaching in American high school students, I taught English language in public schools in Japan and Turkey, and adults from various countries in San Francisco. I'm very curious about the world and love hearing stories of travel and life outside my own sphere, and I try to pass on that interest to my students.

I love my job because each day is different, and teaching fills my days (even the tough ones) with purpose. When I'm not teaching, lesson planning, or grading, I am either jogging, listening to a podcast, reading a book, or watching sports (mostly Giants baseball and Stanford Cardinal football).
