About Me

Michelle Leversee

I completed my undergraduate education in American Studies at Stanford University, where I focused on American history and politics.  I have two Master's Degrees, one in Education from UC Berkeley and one in Spanish Language and Literature from West Virginia University.  I have always been interested in Spanish, and decided to pursue it as a career after meeting my husband, who is from Chile.

I live in the Santa Cruz mountains, and in my free time I love to run with my hound dog Rita, or take her for a swim at the beach.  I also swim with the UCSC Master's Swim Team in the summers.

Cesar Chavez has said that “Real education should consist of drawing the goodness and the best out of our own students. What better books can there be than the book of humanity?”  I love to work with students and bring out the best in them, all the while exploring connections to different cultures and language.

At Del Mar High School, I co-sponsor the Dream Club with Ms. Bueno.  This club is for Dreamers and their allies.  We meet each week to share legislative updates, plan for college and beyond and support each other.
