We are here for all students and their families. If you have questions or need additional support, please see your counselor or a staff member that you trust in the main office for more information.

Vocabulary

  • Undocumented: Refers to individuals present in the country without authorization. We are using the word undocumented and not the word “Illegal.”
  • DACA: A federal executive action order that allows eligible applicants to receive a 2-year renewable work permit and protection from deportation through USCIS (Homeland Security). California Dream Act is NOT tied to DACA
  • AB 540: California state legislature exempts an eligible student from paying non-resident enrollment fees. Review the requirements to see if you are eligible for in-state tuition rates.
  • Mixed Status Family: is a family with members who have different immigration statuses. For example, a family with documented children and undocumented parents is considered mixed status.
