Naviance - College Organization Software for Students

Naviance is a college and career readiness solution that helps districts and schools align student strengths and interests to postsecondary goals, improving student outcomes and connecting learning to life.

Del Mar High School’s Guidance Department is comprised of three school counselors, the College & Career Specialist, the IB Coordinator, and the Vice Principal.  Del Mar High School utilizes Naviance as one of the main preparation and organizational tools for students' post-high school planning and career exploration.

Naviance helps high school students to:

  • Understand their unique strengths.
  • Connect their interests to careers.
  • Set goals.
  • Develop self-knowledge and personal motivation.

Through specific grade-level Advisory lessons plans, every Del Mar student has access to Naviance to explore the following activities: career surveys and inventories, scattergrams and Del Mar college-going data, college majors and programs, and college campuses.

Some of the Naviance activities include:

  •       College and scholarship searches.
  •       Career and personality assessments.
  •       Creating a Four-Year Plan with their counselors.
  •       Completing college application tasks during the college application process.
  •       Resume writing (students keep track of all their awards and activities on the Brag Sheet.)
  •       Seniors must use Naviance to request letters of recommendation or documents from Del Mar.

It is important for all students to use Naviance if they are planning on going to college. Students should keep track of colleges they are interested in by listing them on their College tab once they log-in to Family Connection. Students should also update their resumes whenever they begin participating in extracurricular / co-curricular activities or receive academic, athletic, or community service awards.

Students may access Naviance via their Naviance Student Account at: student.naviance.com/delmar.

Scholarships on Naviance

Available regional and national scholarships are listed on Del Mar High School’s Naviance webpage: connection.naviance.com/delmar. Scholarships are updated regularly by the College & Career Specialist.
