NEW: Personal Electronic Devices

Beginning this school year, Del Mar High School will implement a new personal electronic device procedure designed to create a more focused and engaging learning environment. By limiting access to phones and other personal electronic devices during the school day, we aim to reduce distractions, encourage meaningful and direct interactions among students, and maximize opportunities for learning.

Students will keep their phones with them throughout the day, but devices must remain secured in their assigned pouch from the first bell until the end of the school day. Students will unlock their pouches as they leave campus.

We know families may have questions about how the new procedure will work, so we invite you to join us for one of our upcoming Personal Electronic Device Information Nights. During these sessions, we'll explain the new expectations, demonstrate how the pouches work, and answer questions from students and families.

UPDATE: IMPLEMENTATION TIMELINE
Yondr will not begin on the first day of school. During the first two weeks of school, students will be trained on Yondr procedures and receive their pouches. Our current Personal Electronic Device expectations will remain in place until all students have been trained and pouches have been distributed. Full implementation is expected to begin during Week 3 of the school year.
