About Me!

Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Tiqui and I am one of the English teachers here at Del Mar. I am a proud first-generation Filipino immigrant from Los Angeles, and I'm excited to start my career here in the Bay Area! I went to UC Irvine to get my degrees in English, Education Sciences, and my minor in Creative Writing, and wrapped up my education at Stanford with a Masters in Teaching. Alongside being a first-generation immigrant, I am also a proud first-generation college student, an identity that has always been important to me both as a student and as a teacher. When I was a teen, I wasn't always great at school, but my English classrooms were always my safe spaces on campus. My English teachers always made me feel like I could succeed no matter what, and that's a value that I take continue to take with me as an English teacher today. I'm excited to be a part of your educational journey and help you feel the same way!

 

Outside of being a teacher, I love spending time with my friends and family, watching movies, going to concerts, and scrolling through TikTok :) Looking forward to a great year together!
