About Me

My name is Dr. Heather Wygant. 2025-2026 is my first year teaching at DMHS, but my 28th year in education. I am excited in joining this amazing community.

 

I grew up in Texas, and have been back & forth between Texas and California, beginning my current stay in California in 2007. I have a bachelors in Geology from CSU Hayward, a Masters in Science Education from University of Texas at Dallas, another Masters in Geosciences from Mississippi State, and my PhD in Curriculum & Instruction- STEM from Texas Tech University. I have taught all sciences from 7th grade through high school, plus leadership/ASB, world geography, math, engineering, robotics and even Yearbook! I am also the cheerleading coach.
