Welcome to Ms. Chatfield's Class!

The 2020-2021 school year marks my 9th year at Del Mar and my 13th year as a teacher. I will be teaching English 3 and I.B. Language and Literature (year 1). I am also serving as department chair this year.

 

I grew up in Sacramento (go Rivercats!), but have lived in Santa Cruz for 20+ years. I graduated from Smith College in Massachusetts with a degree in English Literature, and spent my junior year at UC Berkeley. After college, I lived and worked in Spain as an English teacher to children and adults. When I returned to California, I worked in publishing in San Francisco, Menlo Park, and Santa Cruz before receiving my teaching credential at UC Santa Cruz.
