SVCTE - Silicon Valley Career Technical Education
What is SVCTE?
Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE) is a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) high school program offering 28 courses (19 of which are UC “a-g” approved) that prepare students for college and future careers. Students who enroll in the program must commit to the morning session (7:30am to 10:30am) or the afternoon session (12:45pm to 3:45pm) Monday - Friday.
Location: 760 Hillsdale Ave, San Jose, CA 95136. Bus transportation is provided from the student's home high school to SVCTE and back to Del Mar High School.
SVCTE courses are yearlong classes available to 11th and 12th-grade students. Check out their website to read the course descriptions. To find out if a class meets an A-G requirement, please view their Course Prerequisites and Pathways.
Morning and afternoon Program Details
SVCTE AM Program
Students are picked up in front of Del Mar High School promptly at 6:41am and are dropped off at Del Mar at approximately 10:52am. Disclaimer: these times are approximate; specific details will be provided before the start of the program. Students in the AM program can only have a max of 3 classes (periods 5, 6, and 7) at DMHS, including a Flex/Advisory class.
SVCTE PM Program
Students are released 15 minutes before lunch to have ample time to grab lunch and then head over to the front of the school to catch the bus. The SVCTE PM bus will arrive at approximately 12:12pm and will bring students back to Del Mar at approximately 4:03pm. Disclaimer: these times are approximate; specific details will be provided to you and your student before the start of the SVCTE program.The PM SVCTE program students can only have a max of 4 classes at Del Mar (periods 1, 2, 3, and 4) and no flex/advisory period. .
Important note about Sports/Extracurriculars: Sports/Extracurricular activities do not begin until after the 7th period, however, SVCTE students are returning to campus after 4:00pm and may be late to any extracurricular/sports activities. It is highly recommended to take the AM programVCTE students returning after 4:00pm may be late to extracurricular or sports activities. It is highly recommended to take the AM program if you participate in sports.

SVCTE will pick you up and drop you off for your classes each day (see bus schedule).
