Thank you, Families, for attending Senior Family Night.  Information was presented on financial aid and scholarships, and the pathway to college.  Video recordings of the presentations are offered below in English and Spanish, as well as links to PDF versions.  On this page, you will also find a list of important dates for 2020-21.

Below you will find important dates and deadlines for your Senior Year.  Students - the calendar is posted in the Class of 2021 Advisory Google Classroom. Please meet all deadlines. Most answers are on colleges' websites - check the websites and/or email the admissions offices for more information.

September 4 - Deadline to register for Oct SAT via College Board, at: www.collegeboard.com
September 8 - Night School begins at CACE
September 17 - ACT exam www.actstudent.org
September 18 - End of 6 week grading period
September 25 - Deadline to register for October ACT exams - www.actstudent.org

October 1 - Senior Family Night (Financial Aid & College Application Overviews)
October 1 - FAFSA/Dream Act Financial Aid Applications Open, CSU Application Opens
October 3 - SAT Reasoning & Subject Test

  • Teacher Recommendations - email teachers (give at least 10 days notice) and request in Naviance

  • College Transcripts: See Mr. Rodriguez in SSC to send transcripts to colleges that require them (not UCs & CSUs)

November 6 - Deadline to register for Dec ACT www.actstudent.org
November 7 - SAT Reasoning & Subject Test - the only date for SAT subject tests with listening 
November 8 - Deadline to register for Dec SAT
November 17 - Cash for College (DMHS hosting this event)
November 20 - Deadline to complete Senior Brag Sheet and request letters of recommendation from Del Mar staff
November 30 - UC Applications DUE. UC schools do NOT generally take letters of recommendation unless requested under special admission procedures

January 4 - First day of Spring Semester

  • Submit private school applications by January deadlines
  • Submit 7th semester (mid-year) transcript to colleges that request it. See Mr. Rodriguez in Student Services (erodriguez@cuhsd.org)
  • Check that requested letters of recommendation and secondary school reports have been sent by teachers & counselor
  • Report any changes to your spring semester schedule to all colleges and universities
  • Notify colleges immediately of any D’s or F’s received in the first semester
  • Sign up for Night School with counselor to make up any classes needed for graduation
  • Check Naviance monthly for updated scholarship list

February 1 - End of 6 week grading period
February 15-19 - President's Week Break
February TBA - Community College Panel
  • Submit private school apps by February deadlines
  • Check that mid-year school reports have been sent by counselor

May 27 & 28 - Senior Finals. Students must pass all district requirements by May 28, to participate in graduation

June 3 - Graduation!

June 30 - last day to submit FAFSA for federal student aid

  • Request final transcript to be sent to the college you plan to attend - see Mr. Rodriguez in Student Services (erodriguez@cuhsd.org)
  • Submit proof of enrollment for scholarships that require class registration confirmation
